Generally a new patient exam will take the better part of one hour. The beginning of that time will consist of a discussion regarding your complaint(s) as well as a discussion of your medical history. At that point, an examination will begin with the intention of determining the cause of your pain/complaint, as well as ruling out any serious medical concerns. Assuming there are no examination findings that present a contra-indication to manual care, then treatment will begin. Depending on the nature of your condition, treatment will consist of a combination of various interventions that could include Active Release Techniques®, Graston Technique®, Kinesio-taping methods, Joint manipulation, and Rehabilitative exercises.
